But no matter! See folks in costumes ranging from steam punk, to rip off's of pirate movie block busters! From anally authentic renaissance garb, to...three mustketeers? And was that one of those aliens from Galaxy Quest? The hell? Corsets and kilts galore!

Eat wonderful food like steak on a stake! Massive turkey legs that cost way too much! Mac and cheese, or even soup on a stick! No I'm not kidding!

See amazing acts like the Medeival Babes, The Limeybirds, The Rogues, Puke and Snotone of the Mun's favorites, and Hack N Slash!

And lest we forget, JOUSTING! Where it's more about WWE type crowd riling than about actual jousting. Carnival games! A museum of the bizarre and the mysterious!

Corsets and kilts! And pirates!

And of course, the shopping. From decorative knick knacks, to costume pieces and ornamental weaponry. From wood carved furniture to armorers to family coats of arms.

And did I mention, Corsets, Kilts and Pirates?! Huzzah!

[Mun is now very sad that he can't afford to go this year. Open to all, students, townies and faculty. If you've ever been to a Ren Faire, have at it and I'll toss in some NPC's to make it whimsical. And if you haven't, I will anyway!

One of Eleanor's own linen dresses worked well for the Faire, as it turned out. It looked more as if she was dressed as a peasant than a high lady, but people kept remarking on how authentic her garb was.

Eleanor didn't enlighten them to the fact that it was nearly a hundred years old.

Leda grinned at Eleanor. "What a pair we make. This place is so neat!"

"It is, isn't it? I think it's wonderful!"

"Ooh! Knife throwing!" There was a booth nearby where for a dollar you could try your hand at knife throwing. "Hows about I win you a prize?"

Eleanor glanced at it, nodded. "Sure. Why not?"

The one Leda had her eye on was a little stuffed toy dragon, that had wire in it's spine so you could bend it into shapes. Or have it curl about and rest on your neck or something.

She paid her dollar, and tested the weight of the knives.

The first throw was off by a little bit, but the other five hit the bullseye, which was enough.

"Huzzah!" the proprietor shouted, with a bad fake english accent. "The lady hath been victorious! Choose your prize milady!"

Leda snickered, and picked out a dragon that was a slightly different shade of red than Eleanor's hair. Turning, she held it out to her.

Laughing, she took it and rested it upon her shoulder. "It's very cute. Thank you."

"Any time." Leda looked around, assaulted by the sights and sounds and smells, and the endless options for fun, and money spending. There was face painting, henna tattoos, rose sellers and things already mentioned in the intro more.

"So, what do you want to do next?"

"I think we should get our faces painted. Make you really look like a fairy," she smirked.

Robin ran by with several other Muppet Frogs, Lizards and Insects.

About then a band struck up nearby and a mime-ish clown on stilts began to dance. It was very impressive.

"Have you seen the Museum of the Bizarre yet?"

She shook her head. "Not yet I don't think. Have you?"

Jack waved at Eleanor. "Nice outfit!"

"Thank you. Are you enjoying the faire?"

"I am indeed!" he said, trying not to stare as a trio of gothic girls passed by. "You ever been to one of these before?"

"No. The closest thing we had back home was the Beltane celebration." She smirked a little at Jack's reaction to the girls.

"So who's this Tane? Why's there a bell?"

There was a reason Jack wasn't exactly paying attention. The middle gothy girl had blown him a kiss as they walked by.

If this was a cartoon setting, Jack would have hearts floating out of his eyes.

She looked at him for a moment, puzzled, then realized what he meant. "No, silly," she giggled. "Beltaine," she pronounced out the word. "It's the old word for the coming of Spring. What you would call May Day."

"I think she likes you," she smirked.

"Oh, that thing with the pole, right?" Yes, Jack was thinking about the pole.

"I think I like her back," he said, shaking his head a bit to clear it. And because her hips swiveled a bit as she continued walking away.

"Um, yes. The pole. Exactly it." And if he didn't know what said pole represented, she wasn't about to enlighten him.

"I think," she smirked, reaching for his arm to bring him along, "you could get into some trouble here."
