robinthefrogThere were, several tourists who were surprised to find a wee tiny fuzzy frog wearing a pith helmet selling tickets. But not as many as you might think. Most actually took it in a bit of stride. Robin sometimes wondered what caused some people to be surprised at the sight of a Muppet and others to not be.
But he treated both types with equal friendliness, and soon the ones who were surprised, came to accept him as natural and real.
Robin for his part thought little could surprise him, after spending a year at Fandom, and knowing such personalities as Gonzo, or Animal. He was wrong apparently, as he was completely unprepared for a young blond human, accompanied by a Muppet Aligator, and the manager of the boat tour Robin worked for, showing up at the ticket counter with refreshments.
"We're gonna miss you Robin!" the girl, Beatrice who Robin had met early in the summer smiled. "Good luck up north, where the Yankees live." She snickered, and kissed him on his head. If he could blush, he would have.
"If you don't mind," Arnie, the Alligator growled, "I'll refrain from kissing you." Alligators aren't built for shaking their heads, but Arnie's body language and tone of voice conveyed the movement anyway. "You and that uncle of yours. You youngsters always gallivanting off. What's out there in the big wide world? The swamp's got everything you need."
Robin was used to Arnie's cynicism by now of course. He'd grown up knowing the good natured reptile, as had his uncle Kermit. No one really knew how old Arnie was.
Robin shrugged, as best as someone with no shoulders could. "Just restless I guess."
"Well whatever. Take care of yourself kiddo. Send pictures of the weird stuff okay?"
Robin promised he would, then had to break off the farewells, as there were tourists waiting to purchase tickets for the tour. It may be his last day, but he still had a job to do.
