But no matter! See folks in costumes ranging from steam punk, to rip off's of pirate movie block busters! From anally authentic renaissance garb, to...three mustketeers? And was that one of those aliens from Galaxy Quest? The hell? Corsets and kilts galore!

Eat wonderful food like steak on a stake! Massive turkey legs that cost way too much! Mac and cheese, or even soup on a stick! No I'm not kidding!

See amazing acts like the Medeival Babes, The Limeybirds, The Rogues, Puke and Snot~~one of the Mun's favorites~~, and Hack N Slash!

And lest we forget, JOUSTING! Where it's more about WWE type crowd riling than about actual jousting. Carnival games! A museum of the bizarre and the mysterious!

Corsets and kilts! And pirates!

And of course, the shopping. From decorative knick knacks, to costume pieces and ornamental weaponry. From wood carved furniture to armorers to family coats of arms.

And did I mention, Corsets, Kilts and Pirates?! Huzzah!

[Mun is now very sad that he can't afford to go this year. Open to all, students, townies and faculty. If you've ever been to a Ren Faire, have at it and I'll toss in some NPC's to make it whimsical. And if you haven't, I will anyway!

"Yes! It's very fun. Thank you for inviting me."

"Thank you for coming. Have you seen any of the shows yet?"

"I've seen one or two. I did enjoy the fire-eaters and juggling."

About then a band struck up nearby and a mime-ish clown on stilts began to dance. It was very impressive.

"Have you seen the Museum of the Bizarre yet?"

She shook her head. "Not yet I don't think. Have you?"

"No I haven't either. You want to?"

"Certainly! It sounds like fun," she smiled at him.

Just off the jousting field lay the Museum of the Bizarre.

Inside were mock-ups of strange creatures. Like the Medusa's head (viewed through a mirror), an "elf" an ugly little gnome like creature, a Faery (looking like a very large dragonfly.

And other mythical creatures, and other things possibly sprung from the imaginations of HP Lovecraft or some such.

All fake, but nicely spooky.

"Someone has a vivid imagination. But I'm not sure that some of these creatures actually look like this. Gnomes," she pointed, "look more like lumps of clay that a child would put together, trying to make a man. With very sharp teeth," she added.

"Really? I thought they wore red pointed caps and stuff. But then I've never seen one."

The thing in the jar with one red eye was disturbing. The placard read "We don't know what this is."

"That would be a redcap. They're a bit different from gnomes. Then again," she paused, thinking, "they could be like that here. For all I know, gnomes, if they exist in this world, could very well look like that. I'm just thinking in terms of what I've seen in my home."

She considered the jar next. "I ... don't know what that is either."

"It's kind of creepy." Robin said. It was hard to really make out anything in it except the eye since it was kind of squeezed in there.

"You know, it's likely it's just a fake."

"I think they're all fake." Robin said, as a little down the line, a Muppet who was crouched in a jar, sneezed.

"Okay some of them are actors."

"It's a living." the thing in the jar shrugged.

Eleanor peered into the jar that spoke. "What are you?"

The thing in the jar looked left and right to make sure no other patrons were around before it allowed itself to break character.

The placard said it was a gremlin.

"I'm a Muppet Monitor Lizard." he said with an Australian accent. "Just smaller than most." Pause. "Plus some makeup."

She grinned. "The school we go to has gremlins living there. I haven't yet personally seen one, but what I've heard, your make up is doing a good job."

"It does look good." Robin said. "The ones I saw had bigger ears, but I doubt many people here would have actually seen one."

"Probably not," she agreed. "You saw one? Back at school? I thought they bit whoever spotted them."

"I actually hung out with some once. They didn't bite me but they did give me this drink that had the same effect."

"Interesting. Do you happen to know why they feel the need to go around biting people?"

"I wrote a thing about it for journalism class. I'll have to find it."

"I would love to read it," she smiled.

"It has something to do with getting people to not take themselves so seriously."

"That's an interesting way to look at it, I suppose. Though I doubt most of the people who had been bitten by them would feel that way."
